Our Publications

Armenian Young Lawyers Association continues activities in the spheres of providing free legal services, protection of the human rights and raising the educational level of the law students. The organization periodically publishes and disseminates information leaflets, handbooks and collections, which cover different themes. The publications include detailed information on judicial reforms, public services provided by the state, the organizations providing free legal services, as well as on the activities of AYLA and the AYLA Law Students’ Division.

The booklet includes five best reports of the Fourth Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “Advocacy: Current State and Prospects for its Development in the Republic of Armenia,” which took place in December 2007.

HyperLink Jessup Competition in Armenia and Worldwide – 2007
The brochure is republished guidebook to the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, which introduces to the reader’s attention the history, the organization procedures, the rules and the awards, as well as on the organizers of the Competition in Armenia and worldwide, and the Jessup Club of Armenia. The results of the 2007 Jessup Competition and the activities of the Jessup Club of Armenia for 2006 in Yerevan and in the provinces of the Republic of Armenia are also included. The brochure is designed for the participants of the Jessup Competition, as well as for the institutes, law students and other individuals who are interested in the Competition.

HyperLink “A Handbook for the Citizens”
The handbook is aimed to the raise the legal awareness of the population through introducing the legislation of different spheres and the citizens’ rights. The handbook offers clarifications of those spheres of legislation that were more frequently registered in AYLA offices. It should be noted that the current electronic version of the handbook is the new edition published in 2002.

HyperLink “Advocacy: Current State and Prospects for its Development in the Republic of Armenia” (3rd Scientific Conference)
The booklet includes the five best reports of the Third Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “Advocacy: Current State and Prospects for its Development in the Republic of Armenia,” which took place in November 2007. The aim of the conference was to raise the level of knowledge of the law students in advocacy sphere, promote realization of serious studies, contribute to raising the level of the role and importance of the advocacy institute in the RA, as well as to hear to the new ideas and get acquainted with the solutions provided by the lawyers of young generation.

HyperLink Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “The Republic of Armenia Constitution on the Way of Establishment of the Civil Society”
The booklet includes the four best reports of the Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “The Republic of Armenia Constitution on the Way of Establishment of the Civil Society,” which took place in October 2006. In their reports the authors touched the amended provisions of the RA Constitution and the legislative and judiciary reforms issuing from them. They introduced their opinions and suggestions on the improvement of the existing legislation as well.

HyperLink Legal Newsletter
AYLA has started publishing its monthly periodical “Legal Newsletter” since 2006. The Newsletter provides to the attention of the readers interesting interviews on urgent legal themes, opinions on the international legal experience, scientific and educational articles of the legal authorities, success stories on the protection of human rights, as well as articles ensuring transparency of the activities of the judiciary system.
HyperLink Development of the Mechanisms for the Protection of Human Rights and Raising Legal Awareness in the Republic of Armenia
AYLA has published 50 titles of information leaflets, within the framework of the project implemented with the support of Interchurch Organization for Development Co-operation (ICCO) from Holland, aimed at raising the level of legal awareness among the population. The information leaflets include accessible information on the fundamental and every day human rights and the mechanisms for their protection. In particular they touch the issues as: Property right; Legal regulation of construction work; Iinheritance law under the RA legislation; State registration of the property right; Legal regulation of family relations; Appeal of the illegal, ungrounded acts and decisions of the officials in the criminal process; Copyright and related rights; Concept of detention, the grounds and procedure for using the detention as a means for restraint, etc.
5000 copies of each title have been published and disseminated freely among the population of the RA provinces and rural communities.
HyperLink Jessup Competition in Armenia and Worldwide
The brochure is an original guidebook to the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, which introduces to the reader’s attention the history, the organization procedures, the rules and the awards, as well as on the organizers of the Competition in Armenia and worldwide, and the official website of the Armenian Round of The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. The brochure also provides information on the Jessup Club of Armenia, which is an important and novice structure in the establishment and consolidation of the Competition in Armenia. The brochure is designed for the participants of the Jessup Competition, as well as for the institutes, law students and other individuals who are interested in the Competition.

HyperLink Advocacy of Human Rights and AYLA Strengthening Program
The Armenian Young Lawyers Association published 15 information leaflets in the framework of the Advocacy of Human Rights and AYLA Strengthening Program supported by Dutch ICCO organization (Interchurch Organization for Development Co-operation). The booklets, which provide information on human rights and the mechanisms for the protection of human rights, are disseminated freely among the population.
HyperLink “Mechanisms for Alternative Dispute Resolution”
The Armenian Young Lawyers Association published the guidebook “Mechanisms for Alternative Dispute Resolution” in the framework of the Eurasia Foundationsupported project “Development of Mediation Institute in the Republic of Armenia.” The guidebook is aimed at filling the existing informational gap on the mechanisms for alternative dispute resolution. It also promotes different professional organizations to establish their mediation courts, as well as encourages the representatives of small and medium businesses to apply different ADR styles to solve the problems, which arise in the result of their operations.

HyperLink “Development of Mediation Institute in the Republic of Armenia.”
Since July 2005 Armenian Young Lawyers Association has started implementation of the project “Development of Mediation Institute in the Republic of Armenia.” The Eurasia Foundation supported project is carried out in cooperation with Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation (FSMB), and the technical support of ABA/CEELI. The project is aimed at the development and introduction of the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in Armenia, through educating the young lawyers, and the lawyers of small and medium enterprises (SME) by teaching them mediation technique and styles, introducing mediation guides, procedures, code of ethics and other necessary documents. AYLA published three information leaflets in the framework of the project: “Development of Mediation Courts and Mediation in Armenia” program, “Mediation Courts and Mediation,” and “Methods for Alternative Dispute Resolution.” The information leaflets are disseminated freely among the interested organizations and individuals.
HyperLink Republican Scientific Conference of Law Students “Judicial System: Current State and Prospects for its Development in the RA”
The booklet includes the five best reports of the Republican Scientific Conference of Law Students “Judicial System: Current State and Prospects for its Development in the RA,” which took place in July 2005. The speakers touched the problems that exist in the judicial system of the Republic of Armenia, with an emphasis on the problems which exist in daily courtroom business, in addition to the shortcomings and omissions in corresponding legal acts. The law students submitted their suggestions to improve the situation as well.

HyperLink Phillip Jessup Moot Court Competition
Publication of the brochure is aimed at introducing information on the history, organization procedures, as well as on the rules and the organizers of one of the largest, the most popular and the most prestigious international law moot court competitions in the world: “Phillip Jessup Moot Court Competition.” The brochure is designed for the law students, lawyers and other individuals who are interested in the Competition. It is dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Jessup Competition in Armenia, and has the aim to express the gratitude of the organizers to all friends, colleagues and sponsors who supported the organization of the Competition.

HyperLink “Government of Armenia, Information Dissemination to the Citizens”
In the bounds of the UNDP supported project the Armenian Young Lawyers Association published 21 information leaflets covering different themes and disseminated freely among the population . The leaflets provided information on public services in the agricultural, labor, urban development, statistical, cultural and youth, environmental protection, transport and communication, language, and archival spheres, as well as on the activities of the Regulatory Committee of Public Affairs.
HyperLink “Current State of Advocacy and Prospects for its Development in the Republic of Armenia” (2-nd)
The booklet includes the seven best reports of the Second Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “Current State of Advocacy and the Prospects of its Development in RA,” which took place in April 2005. The aim of the conference was to provide an opportunity to introduce a critical dialogue on the current state of the advocates’ institute in RA and to raise the issues of concern based on the analysis of the provisions of the new Law on Advocacy.
HyperLink Newsletter “Law Student”
The quarterly newsletter “Law Student” is aimed at providing unbiased and true information on the current state of the legal education in the republic of Armenia, as well as the activities directed to raising its quality. It also introduces information on judicial and legal reforms and other issues of concern of the law students.
HyperLink “Constitutional Reforms in the Republic of Armenia,” Collection of the reports of the first scientific conference for the law students held in November 2004
The booklet includes five best reports of the First Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “Constitutional Reforms in the Republic of Armenia,” which took place in November 2004. The authors of the reports analyzed the strong and week aspects as well as the shortcomings of the Drafts on the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. It includes the opinions and suggestions of the law students on some constitutional provisions and institutions.

HyperLink “Current State of Advocacy and Prospects for its Development in the Republic of Armenia” (1-st)
The booklet includes the two best reports of the First Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “Current State of Advocacy and the Prospects of its Development in RA,” which took place in May 2004. The conference was aimed at raising the level of the students’ knowledge of advocacy, as well as to promote the establishment of the advocacy institute in Armenia and to raising its role. The conference provided an opportunity to carry out a critical dialogue on the current state of advocacy and other urgent issues.
HyperLink “The Armenia – Public Sector Reform Programme”
In May 2004 Armenian Young Lawyers Association prepared and published ten information leaflets, which covered the public services provided by the state in the spheres of labor and social Issues, healthcare and education and science. The leaflets referred to the most vital problems of those spheres as well. The leaflets are designed for the population and are being distributed currently. The leaflets were published in the bounds of the project “The Armenia – Public Sector Reform Programme”, which was carried out by the Armenian Government and PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc.
HyperLink “Centers Providing Free Legal Services and Information Dissemination”
The handbook is designed for the organizations that provide free legal services and information dissemination, as well as for those, which plan to realize such activities. The handbook discusses the legal field regulating the activities of such organizations. It also covers the issues of establishing and managing such centers, their code of ethics, the international expedience, etc.
The handbook is based on the experience that the Armenian Young Lawyers Organization has gained carrying out such activities.

HyperLink “Free Legal Services in Armenia”
This study is designed to divulge the organizations that provide free legal services in Armenia, the type and the scope of their provided services, their contact details, and beneficiaries, were discussed as well. The study further analyzes the results of the survey conducted regarding the population’s reaction towards the range of paid and free legal services.
The AYLA Working Group carried out the research of the organizations providing free legal advice services. The Armenian Sociological Association carried out the sociological survey and the analysis of its results.

HyperLink Advocacy Campaign on Raising Public Awareness on Electoral Rights and their Protection
AYLA has published 10 titles of information leaflets on electoral rights in the framework of the “Advocacy Campaign on Raising Public Awareness on Electoral Rights and their Protection” program, which is implemented within the framework of the MATRA (Social Transformation) Small Embassy Projects Programme (KAP) with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia and Armenia. 10.000 copies of each title have been published and disseminated freely among the population of Yerevan as well as of the RA provinces and rural communities through the AYLA offices and volunteers. The information leaflets include accessible information on the electoral rights and the mechanisms for their protection, as well as on the procedures for organization, carrying out and the conditions of the elections, the rights and responsibilities of the candidates and the voters, as well as to the Liability for violations of provisions of Electoral

 

    Armenian Young Lawyers Association is in Special Consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the UN since 2014.
