The Assembly of Armenian Lawyers was held in Yerevan
The Assembly of Armenian Lawyers organized by the Office of the Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, was held in Yerevan from 27 to 29 October, 2023.
Within the framework of the Assembly, a number of issues regarding the formats of engagement of the Diaspora lawyers were discussed, which include: the role of the Diaspora legal community in supporting legislative reforms in the Republic of Armenia, post war legal processes, ensuring the safety of the Armenian people in the Diaspora globally, legal issues of protecting and supporting Armenian national interests and the prospects for creating a pan-Armenian network of Armenian lawyers.
More than 250 Armenian lawyers of diaspora from 31 countries (Armenia, the USA, Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Argentina, Russia and other countries) participated in the Assembly, which was held under the title “Armenia and the World: Defending our Rights Abroad and at Home”, with the objective of contributing to the establishment of connections and cooperation between the Armenian lawyers from Armenia and Diaspora.
Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan, the President of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association, and Ms Mariam Zadoyan the Vice President of the organization took part in the Assembly as well.
